It lacks a polyhydric hydroxyl-bridged structure. Its charge density reaches +12.4 meq/g, approximately 2.3 times that of aluminum hydroxide chloride (ACH). A 15% aqueous solution exhibits a pH of 2.0~2.3, indicating strong acidity.

Application:

1. Extra-Strength Antiperspirant

Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is optimized for powerful antiperspirant stick/roll-on formulations. The formula is specifically designed for individuals with hyperhidrosis. It features 8-12% Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate as the core active ingredient, blended with 45% anhydrous ethanol and 5% propylene glycol. The system's pH is precisely controlled to 2.2-2.5.

Leveraging the synergistic effects of Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate high charge density and strong acidic environment, it achieves powerful antiperspirant efficacy, reducing sweat secretion by 60-70% within 24 hours. It is particularly suitable for hyperhidrosis patients with a HJH score ≥3, effectively addressing severe sweating concerns.

2. Post-Shave Astringent

Hexahydrate aluminum chloride demonstrates highly effective astringent and hemostatic properties in post-shave toners. The formulation balances efficacy with mildness. It features 0.5-1% hexahydrate aluminum chloride as the core astringent ingredient, synergized with 0.5% panthenol for soothing. It instantly inhibits bleeding from micro-wounds on post-shave skin. Reduces skin stinging scores by 40%.

The formulation's original pH ranges from 2.8 to 3.0. This strong acidity can cause skin discomfort. Sodium citrate is used for buffering adjustment, controlling the final product pH between 3.5 and 4.0. This significantly reduces irritation while maintaining astringent efficacy, making it suitable for post-shave sensitive skin care needs.

3. Spot Treatment for Acne

Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate delivers targeted care through synergistic action in this spot treatment stick. The formula centers on 2-3% aluminum chloride hexahydrate, synergized with 0.5% salicylic acid. Leveraging Al3+'s astringent properties and dual antibacterial effects (intrinsic acidic environment + salicylic acid antibacterial effect). It reduces acne redness and swelling by 30% within 48 hours.

Due to its strong astringency and potential irritation, this formulation is strictly for spot application only. Single application areas should be limited to 2 cm2 or less to avoid excessive irritation to healthy skin. It is designed for targeted spot treatment of acne lesions.

4. Foot Odor Spray

Hexahydrate aluminum chloride can be incorporated into spray formulations for controlling foot perspiration and odor. Its long-lasting antibacterial and deodorizing effects are achieved through a compound formulation. A core 5-6% hexahydrate aluminum chloride concentration serves as the primary antiperspirant and antibacterial agent. This is synergistically enhanced by blending 0.2% tea tree essential oil.

Apply two sprays inside each shoe. Lysing foot sweat secretion through Al3+'s potent astringent properties. Simultaneously leveraging the combined effects of an acidic environment and tea tree oil. Within 7 days, reduces total bacterial colonies inside shoes by 1.5 log (approximately 97% reduction in bacteria). Lowers odor intensity by 2 levels. Significantly improves the foot's microenvironment. This formulation specifically addresses odor issues caused by excessive foot perspiration, suitable for daily foot care routines.

Usage:

1. Temperature Control Requirements

The addition of hexahydrate aluminum chloride in cosmetic formulations must be strictly limited to aqueous systems at ≤40°C. If the system temperature exceeds 50°C, hydrolysis readily occurs, forming aluminum hydroxide precipitation. This leads to core active ingredient inactivation rates exceeding 20%, significantly compromising the product's targeted functions such as antiperspirant and astringent effects. Therefore, ingredient addition under high-temperature conditions must be strictly avoided.

2. pH Management and Control

The final pH value of cosmetic formulations containing aluminum chloride hexahydrate must be maintained within the range of 2.5~4.0 to ensure consistent efficacy in astringency, antiperspirant, and antibacterial properties. If pH adjustment is required, sodium citrate or sodium lactate should be used as buffering agents, with neutralization performed gradually.

Strictly avoid local pH values exceeding 4.5. At this pH, hydrolysis readily generates aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3) precipitation (with a solubility product constant Ksp = 1.3*10-33). This manifests as a white, hazy cloudiness in the product, directly compromising both appearance and efficacy stability.

Packing and storage:

For customer convenience, Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is available in PP woven 25kg or 40kg bags. Bulk and semi-bulk bags can be filled or sized to meet your packing needs.

Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate should be stored in a cool, dry, and clean area and should be kept in sealed containers when not in use as it readily absorbs moisture.
