Properties:
Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) molecular chains carry quaternary ammonium cationic groups. These cationic groups rapidly neutralize negatively charged colloids such as dyes, slurries, and fibers. This enables highly efficient flocculation and dye fixation.
Common molecular weight ranges for cationic polyacrylamide are 700,000 to 1,500,000 (low range), 1,500,000 to 3,000,000 (medium range), and 3,000,000 to 8,000,000 (high range). Low molecular weight grades are primarily used for sizing and finishing. High molecular weight grades are mainly used for wastewater flocculation.
Cationic polyacrylamide dissolves readily in cold water. Solutions at 0.1~0.3% concentration exhibit viscosities of 30~300 mPa·s. The applicable pH range is 3 to 10. Charges remain stable within the solution. It demonstrates good resistance to hard water. Residual monomer AMD ≤0.05%. Complies with OEKO-TEX Class II and EU REACH ecological requirements for textiles.

Applications:
1. Textile Dyeing Wastewater Treatment
Function: Removes dyes, PVA sizing agents, surfactants, and alkaline substances to reduce COD; achieves decolorization rates of 70-95% and COD removal rates of 50-80%.
Mechanism: Electro-neutralization + adsorption bridging forms large flocs of anionic dyes (reactive, direct, acid). When combined with PAC/aluminium sulfate, reduces inorganic chemical consumption by 30-50%.
2. Sizing/Weaving
Blended with starch and PVA to enhance yarn abrasion resistance, reduce hairiness, and decrease breakage rate by 10-20%. During desizing, CPAM synergizes with anionic desizing enzymes to accelerate sizing paste swelling.
3. Fixation and Finishing
Serves as a formaldehyde-free fixative, improving wash fastness of reactive/direct dyes by 0.5-1 grade; also functions as an antistatic finish, reducing surface resistance from 1013 to 1010 Ω.
4. Fiber Sludge Dewatering
For chemical-biological mixed sludge from dyeing and printing, it reduces belt filter cake moisture content from 82% to 65-70%, with per-unit consumption 20-30% lower than traditional anionic PAM.
Usage: (based on 100% solids content)
1. Textile wastewater flocculation
0.3~1.2 g/m3 Add PAC 50~150 g/m3 first, followed by CPAM as flocculant aid.
2. Sizing agent (blending)
0.2~0.8% by yarn weight blended with starch/PVA, reducing sizing rate by 5-10%.
3. Formaldehyde-Free Fixing
0.5~2g/L Rolling solution pH 6~7, setting at 160°C*60s.
4. Fiber Sludge Dewatering
1.5~4kg/t DS Optimal ion degree (40~55%) requires laboratory beaker testing.
Attention:
0.05-0.1% mother liquor, low-speed stirring at room temperature for 30-40 minutes. Dilute on-site to 0.01-0.02% for continuous addition. Add separately from anionic auxiliaries (CMC, sodium alginate) with an interval of >30 seconds; when blending with PAC, add inorganic first followed by organic. For high-color, high-alkalinity wastewater, select high-ionic-degree (50-70%) low-molecular-weight products. For sludge dewatering, select medium-ionic-degree (35-50%) high-molecular-weight products.
